My sidekicks from my aerobics and Pilates class, Blondie (left) and our instructor, Chris (right), who is "affectionately" called The Goddess of Torture. Blondie and the Goddess are trying out their
new tap shoes. They managed to strong-arm me into taking adult beginner tap dancing with them.

I am blessed with a mother, Phyllis Dayton, who always keeps active. As I write this, she is just
a few months away from her 80th birthday. For years she has taken aerobics three days
each week. About two years ago, she decided that she wanted to learn how to play the
piano, and so she is now taking piano lessons. Pretty neat!
My father, Bill Dayton, was a man who was much admired by those who knew him. He was an
entrepreneur and very successful. He was the co-owner (with my mother, Phyllis Dayton )
of Dayton's Tour Hosts until his untimely death from cancer at the age of 68, on
September 12, 1997. He was the founder of the Bill Dayton Big Band. He also chaired the
committee to re-build the dance pavillion at Pen Mar Park (near the former Fort Ritchie at
the Maryland/Pennsylvania border), which many people enjoy each year. To speak of all his
accomplishments would take an entire web site.
Don Richwine was my sister's father-in-law. He was a good and gentle man. He was not physically
tall, but he was a giant when it came to being a good husband, father, and friend. He was
also one of the finest professional saxophone and clarinet players that I have known, and I've
known plenty.
And...just for fun, below is my family tree.
